We Won! The Sense of Hearing Wins New Business Award at the Cherwell Business Awards

We’re absolutely delighted to share some very exciting news! The Sense of Hearing has won the New Business Award at the 2026 Cherwell Business Awards!

After being named a finalist for the second year running, David headed to the awards ceremony at the Chesterton Hotel on Friday 18 September, where The Sense of Hearing was announced as the winner of the New Business Award, sponsored by OJI Marketing Ltd.

The Cherwell Business Awards celebrate business excellence across the Cherwell District, so to receive this recognition amongst so many fantastic local businesses is something we’re incredibly proud of.

A very special moment

The Sense of Hearing was founded with a clear aim: to provide professional, independent and genuinely personal hearing care in the heart of Banbury.

We wanted to create somewhere people could feel comfortable talking about their hearing, where appointments aren’t rushed and where every patient is given the time, advice and ongoing support they need.

Since then, we’ve continued to grow the practice, welcome more patients and become increasingly involved in the local community, while staying true to that personal approach.

Winning the New Business Award feels like a wonderful recognition of everything that has gone into building The Sense of Hearing.

David Peel, founder and Hearing Aid Audiologist, said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to have won the New Business Award. When I started The Sense of Hearing, I wanted to create an independent practice where people received the highest level of customer service and genuinely personal hearing care.

“To have that recognised by the Cherwell Business Awards means a great deal. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us, particularly our patients who put their trust in us every day.”

From finalist to winner

This win feels particularly special after The Sense of Hearing was recognised at the Cherwell Business Awards in 2025, when we were finalists in both the New Business Award and Town Centre Award.

To return a year later and take home the New Business Award is a fantastic milestone for the practice.

Most importantly, it gives us even more motivation to keep developing The Sense of Hearing and providing the personal, independent hearing care our patients have come to expect.

A huge thank you to our patients, our team and everyone who has supported The Sense of Hearing since we opened.

We couldn’t have done it without you!
